Sharing Fund

Through the Missionary Oblates’ Sharing Fund, we distribute much-needed financial support to specific projects in Oblate missions.  The Sharing Fund also makes annual grants to a variety of other organizations whose work embodies the same characteristics of the Oblates’ mission to serve where needs are the greatest.

Each year, the Oblates’ Sharing Fund provides approximately one million dollars to more than 80 missions and organizations.

The following are just a few examples of Sharing Fund supported projects:

In Colombia, where the threat of violence is ever present, Missionary Oblates are working to establish a strong Church community in support of peace and justice.  To help create a brighter future for the Church and for all residents, the Oblates are building a formation house and community library.

In South Africa, funds are used to purchase computers so students will have access to a better education.  These seminarians, who are the future of the Church, will one day be ministering to the poor throughout Africa.

In Duluth, Minnesota, funds are used to support a drop-in center and overnight emergency shelter for the homeless.

In East St. Louis, Illinois, the Oblates help support Vincent Gray Alternative High School, which opens its doors to at-risk youth who have dropped out or who have been suspended from other schools.

The Missionary Oblates know that when we support other organizations, our own ministries are strengthened and that together we can create a brighter future for more people.
