Dear Friend,
On November 2, All Souls Day, we honor the memory of those who have gone before us. During this special time I will remember my fellow Oblates and loved ones who have recently passed away. Certainly these men will continue to live on in the memories of people they impacted while they walked the earth.
I would like to remember your loved ones in prayer on All Souls Day. On November 2 the Church of Our Lady of the Snows will be filled with bright, blooming roses…each representing the soul of a loved one who has passed away. To have a loved one remembered in prayer, simply follow these steps:
- Have a rose placed at the Church of Our Lady of the Snows on All Souls Day.
- Honor them with an Annual or Perpetual Enrollment. What a wonderful way to keep the memory of our loved ones alive in our hearts!
- Have a Candle of Remembrance lit for your loved one. This is a beautiful way to let your love shine brightly for a deceased family member or friend.
- Have your loved one remembered in perpetuity with an engraved Memorial at the Resurrection Garden at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows.
- Choose a Gift of Remembrance. Select from a variety of beautiful gifts which will help to keep the memory of your loved ones alive.
- Send me your personal intentions. I will pray for you as I say my daily prayers.
I invite you to join us for our annual All Souls Day Mass of Remembrance on November 2. After the 11:30 a.m. Mass we will walk in procession to the Resurrection Garden where the names of those enrolled will be placed in the Garden’s Prayer Capsule. If you cannot join us in person, please join us in prayer as we remember our deceased.
May God bless you and your family. For your kindness, I will personally remember you and your intentions in my daily prayers.
In the hope of the Risen Lord,
Fr. John Madigan, O.M.I. Oblate Director
P.S. Having a Votive Candle of Remembrance lit for a loved one is a beautiful way to let your love shine brightly. For your donation of $25 or more I will see that a Votive Candle is lit at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois.
