Dear Friend,
I want to give you the opportunity to have your special intentions remembered by literally
thousands of Oblate priests, brothers and faithful pilgrims. Simply send me your personal
prayer intentions by August 30.

Your prayers will be combined with thousands of others and will be remembered during
a special Mass on October 13 at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in honor
of Our Lady of Fatima. Your intentions will be prayed for by Oblates in the United States
and in nearly 70 countries around the world.
The story of Fatima is a special one…Mary’s apparitions were about goodness in the
midst of evil, and peace in the midst of violence. This message is one that rings true in our
lives if we search for it. The Oblates, for example, strive to find goodness in people and places considered to be sinful or corrupt, and to make peace when people find themselves
surrounded by violence.
I believe we could all learn from these miraculous visits.
I visited Fatima in February 2009. Words cannot describe the serenity of that holy place.
I will carry the memories with me forever – and I’d like to share my experience with you,

promoting peace and hope all over the world.
