Dear Friend,
Every time I see Fr. Elmar Mauer, O.M.I. he has a big smile on his face. He is surely one of the happiest people I have ever known.
Father Elmar is the chaplain at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital here in Belleville, Illinois. When I see him leaving for work in the morning he is smiling. When he returns home he is smiling. He absolutely loves his ministry. He loves life!
Father Elmar keeps it simple. He listens, he is attentive, he shares. And he always tells the person he is visiting, “I’ll say a prayer for you today.”
Is there someone whom you would like me to say a prayer for today? Not only will I pray with you for this person, but Fr. Elmar and our fellow Oblates will also remember this person in our Masses and prayers.
All you need to do is follow these three steps to ensure that your loved one will be lifted up in prayer by the Missionary Oblates:
- E-mail me your prayer intentions. Your loved one and your personal needs will be prayed for by Missionary Oblates around the world.
- Support our healing missions. Your support will help our Oblate healing ministries like
Our Lady’s Hospice in Zambia, where we provide medical care and comfort to the poorest of the poor.
- Choose a gift. I have selected some Get Well gifts that you may want to send to a loved one. Each gift is a reminder to this person that they are being remembered and prayed for by you and the Missionary Oblates.
Again, thank you for all that you do in support of our Oblate ministries. Please know that Fr. Elmar and I will be praying for your needs and those of your loved ones.
In the love of Christ and Mary Immaculate,
Fr. John Madigan, O.M.I. Oblate Director
P.S. For a donation of $50, I will have a special Healing Candle lit at the Sacred Grotto in Lourdes, France for your loved one.
