Dear Friend,
This Christmas I ask that you consider sharing your blessings with our Native American brothers and sisters. The economic downturn has caused tremendous hardship for them, as it has for so many others. When a family member loses their job, there are very few places here to find employment. Some families have to make the difficult decision to leave the reservation, and their heritage, in order to find work.
Please consider making a gift so this Christmas season can be brighter for a Native American family. Here are some ways you can help.
At St. Catherine’s Church in Sisseton, South Dakota we give each parishioner, no matter their age, a holiday bag. These bags contain simple gifts such as fruit, candy, a small toy for the children or an ornament for the adults. For a gift of $25 you can provide an entire family of four with their Christmas holiday gift bags!
To show my appreciation for your Christmas donation, I invite you to consider the Native American Christmas devotional gifts described below. These items can be given as special Christmas gifts to your loved ones.
Thank you for being a compassionate friend to the people we serve in our Native American missions. Please send me your prayer petitions so I can remember your needs and the needs of your loved ones.
In the love of the Christ Child,
 Fr. Walter Butor, O.M.I.

P.S. For a Christmas donation of $25 I will have a Tekakwitha Votive Candle lit for you at St. Benedict’s Church in White Earth, Minnesota.
