Ensure the Good News of Jesus Christ can be shared during times of Crisis

Right now the Missionary Oblates are bringing blessings to communities that have been hit the hardest by natural disasters, the global pandemic and social unrest. People in these communities are without some of life’s basic necessities and need practical and spiritual help more than ever.
In Haiti, about 80 percent of our parishes, schools and other mission sites were destroyed or severely damaged by the earthquake on August 14. But today, rubble is being cleared and Masses are now being held in temporary facilities. In New Orleans, Hurricane Ida damaged the historic St. Augustine Church run by the Oblates. But repairs are being made to restore this church that has been a beacon of hope for the city’s African American community for generations. And in Tijuana, B.C., Mexico violence and persecution are displacing refugees, but compassionate care and support is being given to care for those fleeing from their homelands.
