Carry Forward Saint Eugene de Mazenod’s Legacy of Service and Love

Saint Eugene de Mazenod was born into a world of turmoil, yet he saw Christ in the faces of the abandoned and the marginalized. He recognized their deep spiritual and material poverty and answered the call to heal, to serve, and to uplift those who had been forgotten by society. In 1816, he founded the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, committing his life and energy to spreading the Gospel of hope, healing, and love to the most neglected corners of the world.

For more than 200 years, the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate have answered that same call — reaching into the darkest corners of the earth to meet both spiritual and physical needs. From the jungles of Africa to the streets of South America, from the isolated villages of Asia to the war-torn regions of the Middle East, the Missionary Oblates continue to carry out Saint Eugene’s mission, bringing the light of Christ to the poorest and most abandoned.

Right now, the Missionary Oblates are:

  • Walking miles through treacherous terrain to bring Communion to families who have not seen a priest in months.
  • Comforting orphaned children in areas ravaged by violence and conflict.
  • Teaching the Gospel in communities where doing so risks persecution and hardship.
  • Providing shelter, food, and medical care to the forgotten and oppressed.

The legacy of Saint Eugene lives on in every act of service, every prayer, and every life transformed through the work of the Missionary Oblates. His vision was clear: to serve the poor without hesitation, to bring healing and the love of Christ to those in need, regardless of the cost.

Today, you can help continue that mission.
