Lent is a time to pray, reflect, and reach out a helping hand to our brothers and sisters most in need.

Dear Friend,

Lent begins with the celebration of Ash Wednesday on February 22. This solemn holy season is a time of reflection and remembrance, preparing for the death and Resurrection of Our Savior. Characterized by abstaining and sacrifice, Lent is a wonderful time to give of yourself to those less fortunate. As co-missionaries with the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate so many have already helped change the lives of families living in our mission communities around the world. But so much more help is needed.

Families like Maria Sanchez’s in our Tijuana, Mexico, mission. A few months ago, Maria’s house caught fire and burned to the ground. Thankfully, she and her children survived the blaze, but the family lost everything—their possessions, photos, memories and home. The Missionary Oblates immediately jumped into action, raising money to rebuild the home and help the family get back on their feet. Thanks to the generous gifts from donors like you, the Sanchez family now has a safe new home and Maria and her children are excited about the future. “The Oblate family was the first one to help,” Maria said.

When you give to the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, you are helping mothers, children and families like the Sanchez’s, providing much needed assistance and spreading the love and light of Jesus Christ.

I hope today you will consider making a gift in honor of Lent that will help continue the work of our Missionary Oblates.

As a thank you for your continued support of our missionary efforts and so that we may be joined spiritually during this holy season of Lent, I want to provide you with two special gifts.

First, I want to have your needs and the needs of your loved ones remembered at our Lenten liturgies. Simply click below to submit your prayer intentions. Your intentions will be prayed for throughout Lent at our two spiritual centers: the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois, and the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto and Tepeyac de San Antonio.

Second, in appreciation for your donation of at least $5 on this page in support of our Oblate ministries, we will send you a A Prayer Journey through the Stations of the Cross prayer booklet. In this booklet you will be guided through the Stations of the Cross with prayers and reflections for each station.

Additional Lenten devotional gifts can be found below, including a Resurrection Taper Candle lit for you in Jerusalem, a Votive Candle lit at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, a bracelet, and a beautiful chaplet.

Thank you for being a co-missionary with the Oblates in the 70 countries where Missionary Oblates are bringing hope and healing to the poorest of the poor, like Tijuana. Our Missionary Oblates are praying that you have a blessed Lenten season.
