Almighty Ever-Living God, who created everything on earth for our bounty, lead us to share in the joys of heaven. Your voice calls out to us, Your humble flock. May we reach where Your Son Jesus, the brave Shepherd, has gone before us. Amen

Scripture Quote

Psalm 95:7

For he is our God;
we are the people he cares for,
the flock for which he provides.

How comforting it is for sheep to be cared for by their shepherd. So too for us as a flock to be cared for by God with Jesus the Good Shepherd! We belong to a community—symbolically, a flock—of faith. We are members of that flock. Too often popular culture encourages us to fulfill our individual desires. But in Christianity, we are not individuals but, rather, members of one faith community, members of the Body of Christ—One Body and One Spirit.

Reflection Questions

How can my Lenten sacrifice make a positive difference in the lives of my family, friends, and community?

The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate care for the spiritual and physical needs of the sheep who are poor and abandoned in the most difficult missions in the US and world. Will you support us today in your prayers and gifts?
