Pray for Healing and Hope

Devotion to Our Lady of the Snows, whose feast day is August 5, has a special place in the hearts of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. For 80 years, the Oblates have celebrated a healing and hope novena at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows.

On the second night of the novena, we will pray for people who are struggling with hopelessness. Many who struggle deal with their pain by consuming alcohol, drugs or engaging in other unhealthy activities. For many years, the Shrine has hosted programs to help people overcome their addictions.

Father Salvador (Sal) Gonzalez, OMI, Shrine Director, has been ministering to people suffering from the effects of addictions for decades. He has ministered to people through traditional 12-step programs. He has also counseled people in less formal settings, simply by listening and comforting addicts as well as their loved ones.

Providing people with hope in their lives is a hallmark of Oblate ministries. Through the power of prayer, let us bring hope into your life and the lives of your loved ones.
