Summer is almost over, and for many of us, that means helping the children in our lives get ready for a new school year and transitioning our wardrobes for the colder fall months.
But in our mission communities, like Tijuana, B.C., Mexico, mothers and fathers face incredible challenges to provide the essentials their families need to survive. School supplies, new jackets and shoes for colder months, a new roof and proper medical care are all financially out of reach for these families.
As a member of the Mazenodian-Oblate Family, you are helping the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate deliver the essential spiritual and physical support these families need … and right now, they need you more than ever.
Today, you can help support them for the rest of the year by contributing to the 2022 Mazenodian Mission Fund Drive. This campaign happens once a year, but the funds we raise now will go where the need is greatest, helping to provide urgent relief to our most desperate missions all year.
We have set an ambitious $250,000 goal for 2022, and the deadline is October 31. The next few weeks will be critical in reaching this important milestone. There is much work to be done, and with your support, we can make sure every family has what they need.
Can I count on you to reach out a helping hand today? Any amount you can give to our 2022 Mazenodian Mission Fund will help provide lifesaving programs for the mission poor who suffer so much. You can make your gift below.
Support for our 2022 Mazenodian Mission Fund will help continue essential programs within our missions. In Tijuana, your gifts have already helped fund programs such as:
- The Scholarship Program helps pay for college tuition for the young adults in our communities who express an interest in pursuing higher education. Many return to our community to use their education to volunteer and help those who are still suffering the effects of extreme poverty.
- The Health Program is currently made up of 12 students studying to become doctors, nurses or physical therapists as well as a few local doctors who have volunteered their services. The team of students visit many families in our parish, and can check vitals, treat wounds, advise about already prescribed medications and transport patients to clinics and hospitals.
- The Engineering Program provides online engineering services for companies in the United States. Led by civil engineer Luis Zepeda, the program provides jobs for engineering students graduating from the Scholarship Program. The Engineering Program is also responsible for providing new roofs free of charge to the mission families in our community.
These incredible programs are not only providing essential services to those in need, but they are helping stop the cycle of poverty and giving hope for a brighter future for these communities.
Your gift to the 2022 Mazenodian Mission Fund will help sustain and expand these programs, helping more young people receive an education, more sick and injured people receive medical care and help more families receive the basic necessities they need to keep their children safe and healthy.
Please make a generous gift today to our 2022 Mazenodian Mission Fund. Help us reach our $250,000 goal so we can be there for all those who need us. But hurry, the deadline to participate in this fund is October 31.
On behalf of all the vulnerable families we serve, we thank you.
In Jesus Christ and Mary Immaculate,
Father David P. Uribe, OMI
