Purity of Heart, Service to Others

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus reveals a profound truth about the relationship between purity and seeing God: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8). The call to be pure in heart is not about outward perfection but a sincere devotion to God. A pure heart seeks God above all else, remaining free from the distractions of sin and selfishness.

The purity Jesus speaks of is about living a life of integrity and selflessness, putting the love of God and neighbor above all. In the Catholic tradition, this purity is nurtured through the sacraments, prayer, and service.
