Novena to Our Lady of Lourdes
February 3 – February 11
Day 1 — February 3
Come to the Waters of Mercy
Scripture: “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” — Isaiah 12:3
Reflection: At Lourdes, Mary revealed a spring that continues to flow with healing and hope. This water is more than a physical sign of restoration. It is a spiritual invitation to renewal. Whether we carry illness, sorrow, or doubt, we are invited to kneel beside Bernadette and receive the gift of living water.
Prayer: O Mary, Immaculate Virgin, you appeared to Bernadette and opened a spring of grace. I come to you today with a heart in need of healing. Heal my body, my memories, and my spirit. Wash away whatever keeps me from trusting in your Son. Restore my peace, renew my hope, and help me become a source of compassion for others. Amen.
Day 2 — February 4
Immaculate Light in Our Darkness
Scripture: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness.” — John 8:12
Reflection: Mary reflects the radiant light of Christ. In moments of confusion or fear, she gently guides us toward Him. When darkness surrounds us, her presence reminds us that the light of Christ will never fail.
Prayer: Holy Mother, you shine with the brilliance of heaven and reflect the light of your Son. When I feel lost or overwhelmed, guide me. Illuminate my path and help me see with eyes of faith. Dispel the shadows of fear and doubt and lead me to the peace that only Christ can give. Amen.
Day 3 — February 5
Health of the Sick, Pray for Us
Scripture: “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
— Psalm 147:3
Reflection: Lourdes has long been a sanctuary for the sick and suffering. Mary intercedes for all who are wounded, whether those wounds are visible or hidden. Today we entrust our pain and the suffering of others to her loving care.
Prayer: Blessed Mother, you know the pain of your children and never turn away from those who suffer. I place before you all who are ill, especially those who feel forgotten. Bring healing to their bodies and peace to their hearts. Strengthen caregivers and comfort the lonely. May your presence be a balm to every wound. Amen.
Day 4 — February 6
Refuge of Sinners, Shelter Us
Scripture: “Return to me with your whole heart.” — Joel 2:12
Reflection: Mary calls us gently to conversion. She does not condemn us but invites us to begin again. No matter how far we may have wandered, her maternal love leads us back to the mercy of Christ.
Prayer: Mother of Mercy, you welcome all who seek forgiveness. I come before you with humility, asking for the grace to turn away from sin and toward your Son. Shelter me in your love and help me begin again. Teach me to extend mercy to others as generously as God gives it to me. Amen.
Day 5 — February 7
Comforter of the Afflicted
Scripture: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”— Matthew 5:4
Reflection: Mary stood faithfully at the foot of the Cross and understands the depths of human sorrow. When grief weighs on our hearts, she walks beside us and reminds us that love endures beyond death.
Prayer: Gentle Mother, you know the pain of loss and sorrow. Comfort those who mourn and bring peace to troubled hearts. Help me carry my grief with faith and remind me that your Son has conquered death. May I also become a source of comfort to others who suffer. Amen.
Day 6 — February 8
Queen of Peace, Calm Our Hearts
Scripture: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.”— John 14:27
Reflection: In the quiet grotto at Lourdes, pilgrims often experience a profound peace. Mary invites us to bring our worries and anxieties to her Son, who alone can calm the storms within us.
Prayer: Queen of Peace, in a world filled with noise and unrest, I turn to you. Quiet my heart and calm my thoughts. Help me trust in God’s providence and rest in His love. Fill my home and my soul with the peace of Christ, and teach me to be a peacemaker in my daily life. Amen.
Day 7 — February 9
Mother of Hope, Lift Us Up
Scripture: “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.”— Isaiah 40:31
Reflection: Hope anchors the soul. Mary lifts us up when we are weary and reminds us that God remains faithful in every season of life. Even when the path is uncertain, we trust that His promises endure.
Prayer: Mother of Hope, when discouragement weighs on my heart, lift me up. Help me place my trust in God’s faithfulness and not in circumstances. Strengthen my spirit and guide me to encourage others who feel lost or weary. Amen.
Day 8 — February 10
Faithful Witness, Strengthen Our Faith
Scripture: “Blessed is she who believed.”— Luke 1:45
Reflection: Both Mary and Bernadette believed even when others doubted. Their faith reminds us that trust in God often requires courage. Today we ask for a deeper faith that endures in uncertainty.
Prayer: Faithful Mother, you trusted completely in God’s word. Strengthen my faith when I struggle or feel uncertain. Help me believe even when I cannot see the path ahead. Teach me to say yes to God’s will with courage and joy. Amen.
Day 9 — February 11
Immaculate Conception, Pray for Us
Scripture: “Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.”— Luke 1:28
Reflection: When Mary revealed herself to Bernadette as the Immaculate Conception, she reminded the world of God’s grace at work in salvation history. Lourdes remains a place where heaven touches earth and countless people encounter healing, peace, and renewal.
Prayer: Immaculate Virgin, full of grace, thank you for walking with me throughout this novena. Receive my intentions and present them to your Son, who hears every prayer with mercy and love. Help me carry the fruits of this novena into my daily life, living with greater faith, compassion, and hope. May Lourdes remain in my heart as a place of prayer and peace. Amen.
