In the heart of Tijuana, the Missionary Oblates’ CARES Program is doing something the world often fails to do—embracing children that others overlook, neglect, and sometimes abandon.

These are children with Down Syndrome, Autism, Angelman Syndrome, and other disabilities—children denied entry to traditional schools. Many have suffered unspeakable abuse and isolation. But here, in a school built on mercy and mission, they are seen. Heard. Loved.

Willyam’s story is one that can’t be forgotten. As a child with autism, he endured violence, starvation, even sexual abuse at the hands of caregivers who didn’t understand his needs. His fear of touch became a wall that even love couldn’t cross.
