Answer the Call of Compassion This World Humanitarian Day

On World Humanitarian Day, we pause to honor those who serve selflessly—and few embody this spirit more profoundly than the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate.

All around the world—and closer to home in places like Texas, New York, and New Orleans—the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate are quietly transforming lives. From rural villages in Zambia, India, Haiti, and Mexico to urban neighborhoods across the United States, children who once walked barefoot to school now carry backpacks filled with hope. With every prayer, every pencil, and every word of encouragement, the Missionary Oblates are restoring dignity and possibility to young lives.

But they can’t do it alone.

This Back-to-School season, your gift becomes more than a donation—it becomes a lifeline. It becomes the reason a child smiles on their first day of school. It becomes the reason a family feels seen, supported, and loved.

Scripture calls us to this kind of compassion and action. As Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). And Proverbs reminds us, “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done” (Proverbs 19:17).
