Serving God with Courage and Compassion in Turbulent Times
Imagine standing in the heart of Laos, a country torn apart by war, where fear and violence ruled the land. Families were forced to flee their homes, and entire communities lived in constant fear. But even in the darkest moments, one man refused to turn away. A former soldier who had once fought on the battlefield, he chose a different path—one of faith, service, and unwavering love. As a Missionary Oblate of Mary Immaculate, he stood beside the Hmong people, offering them more than just prayers. He became their protector, their guide, and a beacon of hope when all seemed lost.
However, Fr. Lucien’s story is just one of many. For generations, men like him have dedicated their lives to bringing hope to the world’s most vulnerable.
The Missionary Oblates: 199 Years of Serving the World’s Most Vulnerable
For nearly two centuries, the Missionary Oblates have been a force for good in some of the world’s most challenging places. Founded in 1825, the Missionary Oblates have served on the front lines of faith, bringing hope and healing to those society often forgets. Today, we minister in 70 countries, working in war zones, disaster-stricken regions, and impoverished communities—places where others rarely go. Whether it’s offering shelter to refugees, providing food to the hungry, or standing up for human rights, our mission remains the same: to bring God’s love where it’s needed most.
Your Support Can Change Lives
Your generosity fuels this mission. It allows us to stand beside those in crisis, just as Fr. Lucien stood with the Hmong. With your help, we can continue to bring God’s love to those who need it most. Your donations help the Missionary Oblates provide assistance such as:
- Food for the homeless in New Orleans
- Shelter and job training for those in need in places like South Korea
- Advocacy for miners suffering in exploitative conditions in Bolivia
