Summer 2026 Issue
From the Provincial, Fr. Raymond Cook, OMI
Dear Friends in Christ,
Welcome to this edition of Oblate World Magazine. Your prayers and support continue to sustain the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate as we bring Christ’s love to places of deep need and hope.
In this issue, you will find stories that show the Holy Spirit at work in our Congregation, from Rome to our mission territories and the quiet spaces of daily ministry.
This year, our Oblate family celebrated the two hundredth anniversary of the approval of our Constitutions and Rules. As Fr. Cyprian Czop, OMI, reflects, Oblates from around the world gathered in Rome to pray, give thanks, and renew the spirit entrusted to us by St. Eugene de Mazenod. From the Basilica of Our Lady in Campitelli to our audience with Pope Leo XIV, the celebration affirmed that our charism remains firmly rooted in the universal Church.
We also reflect on the apparition of Our Lady of Pontmain. In 1871, during a time of fear and war, Mary appeared with a message of peace and trust. Her words, “But pray, my children. God will answer you very soon,” continue to offer hope in uncertain times.
Another article highlights a hopeful trend: young adults returning to faith with sincerity and depth. They seek meaning, peace, and Christ. Through parish ministry, retreats, spiritual accompaniment, and service among the poor, Oblates continue to walk with them on this journey.
Across the world, the message remains clear. God continues to call. The Oblates continue to respond. Your generosity forms seminarians, sustains missionaries, and brings hope to those who might otherwise be forgotten.
As you read this edition, I invite you to pause in prayer and reflection. May these stories strengthen your spirit and remind you that we share a mission rooted in the Gospel and entrusted to us for the sake of those most in need.
Thank you for being a vital part of our Oblate family.
