Daily Prayer 5/29

Feast Day of Blessed Joseph Gerard, OMI 1831-1914

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father this month. Amen

Let us pray that through work, each person might find fulfilment, families might be sustained in dignity, and that society might be humanized. (USCCB.org)

Gospel Reading of the Day: John 16:16-20

Daily Prayer:

Caring Lord, You said that my heart will feel sorrow in this life. But You promised that my grief would turn to joy, and I cling to that hope in my heart. As Blessed Joseph Gerard, OMI lived his full missionary life in Lesotho with little conversions to the faith, he persevered for the sake of the mission of Christ and is revered among the natives today as the father of faith because of his compassion and care for the sick. May I always have Your strength and care in sorrowful times. Amen.
