Daily Prayer 8/18

Monday of the Twentieth Week in Ordinary Time

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father this month.  Amen

Let us pray that societies where coexistence seems more difficult might not succumb to the temptation of confrontation for ethnic, political, religious, or ideological reasons.

Gospel Reading of the Day:  Matthew 19:16-22

Daily Prayer:

Wise Lord, I want to inherit eternal life, yet I feel the weight of what I cling to. You ask me to let go, to follow You fully, but my heart hesitates. Help me surrender what holds me back, even when it hurts. Teach me that true treasure is found in You alone. Give me courage to walk away from all that separates me from You, for I want to walk in Your ways. Amen
