Daily Prayer 8/23

Saturday of the Twentieth Week in Ordinary Time

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father this month.  Amen

Let us pray that societies where coexistence seems more difficult might not succumb to the temptation of confrontation for ethnic, political, religious, or ideological reasons.

Gospel Reading of the Day:  Matthew 23:1-12

Daily Prayer:

Humble Lord, I don’t want to just look good on the outside—I really want a heart that honors You. Help me let go of my pride, the need to be noticed and teach me to choose humility instead. When I start craving status or attention, remind me that true greatness comes from surrender. Make me small in the eyes of the world, so I can stay close to Yours. Amen
