Missionary Oblate priests and brothers in Ukraine are facing hardships and danger every day. Their churches have been turned into bomb shelters and distribution sites for food and medicine. At the Oblates’ home in Chernihiv, more than 40 people are spending each night in the basement to protect themselves from the constant bombing.
There are more than 30 Oblates ministering in Ukraine. And none of them have left the country. Brother Nobert Jablko, O.M.I., a seminarian, explains the Oblates’ commitment to the people of Ukraine in one sentence: “Oblates do not run away.”
