Many Faces of the Blessed Mother

Draw Closer to His Presence: Embrace Eucharistic Devotion

For Catholics, the Eucharist is a treasure beyond measure, the heartbeat of our faith, and the source of all grace and strength. It is the living presence of Jesus Christ, given for you. It is a sacred mystery where Heaven touches Earth, and we are drawn into the profound love of our Savior.

In every Mass, Christ invites us to His table, to share in His body and blood, to be nourished in spirit, and to be transformed. The Eucharist is not just a ritual—it is the very essence of God’s love, poured out for us, a love that changes everything.

A Remarkable Story of Eucharistic Transformation

Father Constantine Scollen, a Missionary Oblate of Mary Immaculate, who served the Blackfoot people in the late 19th century, dedicated his life to the Blackfoot Confederacy, ministering to their spiritual and physical needs on the plains of Southern Alberta and Northern Montana. Fluent in multiple Indigenous languages, including Cree and Blackfoot, he immersed himself in their nomadic lifestyle, earning their trust and respect. Through his ministry, he celebrated the Eucharist, bringing Christ’s presence to the heart of their community.

Father Scollen’s efforts went beyond spiritual care—his work was instrumental in fostering peace and understanding between the Blackfoot people and the Canadian government, particularly during the signing of Treaty 7 in 1877. His example demonstrates the Eucharist’s ability to unite, heal, and transform lives.

A Sacred Gift That Transforms Hearts Forever

  • An Encounter with Christ’s Love: When we receive the Eucharist, we are embraced by the same love that led Jesus to the cross. His sacrifice becomes our strength, His resurrection becomes our hope.
  • A Call to Belong: In the Eucharist, we are united not only with Christ but with one another as one Body, the Church. It is here we find our true home, our true purpose.
  • A Mission to Serve: Christ, who gives Himself completely in the Eucharist, calls us to do the same—to love, to forgive, to serve, and to bring His light to a world in darkness.

The Missionary Oblates: Bringing the Eucharist to the World

It is through the Eucharist that they find the strength to serve the poorest and most abandoned, to walk alongside those who feel forgotten, and to share the hope of Christ’s love in the most challenging places.

  • Reaching the Margins: The Oblates bring the Eucharist to places where others cannot or will not go, ensuring that no one is left without the chance to encounter Christ.
  • Living Christ’s Example: In their selfless service, the Oblates mirror the sacrificial love of the Eucharist, offering their lives for the sake of others.
  • Inviting All to the Table: The Oblates strive to open hearts to the transformative power of the Eucharist, helping others discover the joy and peace that comes from knowing Jesus.
