Meet the Staff

Fr David Uribe, OMI

Fr. David P. Uribe, OMI
Oblate Chaplain Director

Father David Uribe is the Executive Director of the Oblate Missionary Society Inc., the primary fundraising organization of the Missionary Oblates which includes the Charitable and Planned Giving Office.

Father David was born in 1973 in Seminole, Texas and has two sisters. His parents, David and Mary Uribe, had been longtime friends of the Oblates. Father David’s Oblate journey began at the age of 14 when he entered the Oblates’ St. Anthony High School Seminary in San Antonio. At St. Anthony he discovered that, in addition to Mass and Sacraments, priests can positively affect people’s lives through many different ministries.

Father David entered the Oblate pre-novitiate program after high school, but then decided to explore career possibilities outside of religious life. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters in Organizational Leadership and Ethics from St. Edwards’ University in Austin, Texas.

Despite a successful career, Fr. David felt a void in his life and returned to the Oblate formation program, eventually being ordained in 2014. His first assignment was as Pilgrimage Director at the Shrine and later he served as a Associate Pastor at Immaculate Conception Parish in Houston, Texas before taking on his current ministries.

Father David said he is honored to provide a link between the Oblates and their benefactors. He takes particular pride in making sure that all of the benefactors’ prayer intentions are being fulfilled in the local Oblate community, at the shrine, and at sites around the world. In his free time, which is limited, Fr. David enjoys reading, learning about new things, and socializing with friends.
