Novena Prayers: Our Lady of the Snows
The First Day: July 28th, 2025
Scripture Readings:
Romans 8:18-25; Psalm 121; John 5:1-9
Reflection:
As we open this sacred Novena, our hearts are united in prayer for those caught in the painful grip of addictions. Like Mary, who stood steadfast by her Son with unwavering love and compassion, may we also lift up all who seek the strength to walk the path of recovery and freedom. Together, let us beg for God’s healing grace to break every chain that binds His beloved children.
Our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. On this first day, entrust every struggle and hidden sorrow to Mary’s care. In her gentle arms, no wound is too deep for God’s healing touch.
Let us Pray,
O Blessed Virgin Mary, gentle and merciful Mother,
In your maternal care, we place all who struggle with the heavy burden of addiction—those we know and those known only to God. You who never turned away from the suffering, look with compassion on these wounded souls.
Intercede for them, O Mary, that they may find strength to persevere in trials, courage to rise from failure, and hope to believe in the possibility of new life. Let God’s power of restoration flow into the darkest places of despair, bringing light, freedom, and healing.
Strengthen also the hearts of their families, friends, and all who walk this difficult journey beside them. Let them not lose heart, but hold fast to faith in God’s mercy, which makes all things new.
Guide each of us, loving Mother, to trust in His boundless grace, so that every wound may be healed and every captive set free.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Second Day: July 29th, 2025
Scripture Readings:
1 Kings 17:7-16; Psalm 34; Matthew 14:13-21
Reflection:
Today we reflect on the sacred mystery of the Eucharist—the Bread of Life, given to nourish weary hearts and restore broken souls. Mary, the Mother of the Eucharist, points us always to her Son, truly present in this most holy Sacrament, our spiritual food for the journey.
Taste and see the goodness of the Lord. In the mystery of the Eucharist, God’s love renews us daily—bringing hope to the weary and strength to the weak. Receive Him today with a heart wide open.
Let us Pray,
O Mary, Mother of the Eucharist,
You carried in your womb the very Body and Blood that now nourishes the world. Teach us to approach the altar with humble hearts, prepared to receive Jesus with reverence and awe.
May this heavenly food heal our inner wounds, strengthen us in our weaknesses, and fill our hearts with divine grace. In times of doubt, remind us that in the Eucharist, Jesus remains with us—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity—our companion and refuge.
Help us to recognize the face of Christ in every reception of the Sacrament. Let His living presence renew our faith, deepen our love, and inspire our service to others. And as you fed Him in Bethlehem, feed us now with the Bread from Heaven until we come to the eternal feast.
Amen.
The Third Day: July 30th, 2025
Scripture Readings:
Colossians 3:12-15; Matthew 25:31-40
Reflection:
On this day we honor and pray for all caregivers—those silent saints who give of themselves in homes, hospitals, and hidden places of suffering. Like Mary, who lovingly tended her Son, they pour out compassion with tireless hands and hearts.
As Mary nurtured Jesus, caregivers bring life and love to those in need. Pray today that their service may be a light of Christ in the world.
Let us Pray,
Compassionate Mother,
Wrap in your mantle of mercy all who care for the sick, the elderly, the vulnerable. Pour strength into their weary bodies; fill their minds with wisdom and patience. Give them hearts like yours—gentle yet courageous, joyful yet enduring.
May they see Christ’s face in every person they tend—in the smile of the recovering, in the tears of the suffering, in the silence of the dying. May they know that their unseen labors are treasures in heaven.
When exhaustion or discouragement comes, lift their eyes to your Son, who came not to be served but to serve. Bless their hands that touch the weak. Bless their words that comfort the afraid. Bless their spirits with joy even in sorrow.
Amen.
The Fourth Day: July 31st, 2025
Scripture Readings:
Jeremiah 29:1, 4-13; Psalm 37:5 or Psalm 42:11; Mark 9:14-29
Reflection:
Today we seek the grace of unshakable faith in the face of life’s trials. Like Mary standing beneath the Cross, may we trust that even in sorrow and uncertainty, God’s plan is unfolding with perfect love.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act. Mary shows us the way to hope when all seems lost. Entrust your fears to her care today.
Let us Pray,
Our Lady of Faith,
When the storms of life threaten to overwhelm us, be our anchor and our shield. When fear rises like waves, strengthen our trust in God’s promises.
Teach us to surrender—not in defeat, but in perfect trust to the will of the Father. Whisper to our hearts that His plan is greater than our fear, His power stronger than our weakness.
Help us see beyond the present crisis to the dawn of new hope. Walk beside us, as you walked with Jesus, through sorrow to joy, from death to resurrection. May we always believe that nothing is impossible for God.
Amen.
The Fifth Day: August 1st, 2025
Scripture Readings:
Jeremiah 29:1, 4-13; Psalm 37:5 or Psalm 42:11; Mark 9:14-29
Reflection:
Today we pray for the young—the hope of the Church and the world. Like Mary, may they say “yes” to God’s call with courage and joy, rising above temptation to walk the path of life.
Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. May our prayers today help young souls remain strong and faithful in every trial.
Let us Pray,
Mother of Youth,
Embrace our sons and daughters as they face life’s choices. Inspire their dreams, guard their hearts, and lead their feet on the narrow path of truth.
Protect them from despair in a world of confusion. Let them discover in Christ the fullness of life and joy. Bless their friendships, their studies, their work, and their future vocations.
Guide parents, teachers, and mentors to nurture them with wisdom and grace. May all young hearts rise on wings like eagles, renewed by hope and trust in God.
Through your intercession, may this generation become shining lights of faith, peace, and love in the world.
Amen.
The Sixth Day: August 2nd, 2025
Scripture Readings:
Romans 12:1-2; Psalm 27; Mark 2:1-12
Reflection:
On this day, we lift to God all who suffer in body—those who bear visible and hidden pain. Like Mary at the bedside of the sick, may we bring comfort and healing.
Be transformed by the renewal of your mind. God’s healing power flows through prayer and faith—never doubt His mercy and care.
Let us Pray,
Healing Mother,
You who comforted the suffering Christ, intercede for all who are ill. Touch their broken bodies with the grace of your Son, who healed the sick and raised the dead.
Give them courage in affliction, patience in trial, and trust in God’s healing will. Bless their caregivers with skill and compassion. Bring peace to their minds, calm to their fears, and strength to their spirits.
May every illness draw them nearer to the Lord, who carries our wounds and bears our sorrows. And if healing in this life is not Your will, prepare them for the joy of the life to come.
Amen.
The Seventh Day: August 3rd, 2025
Scripture Readings:
Isaiah 1:10, 16-18; John 8:8-11
Reflection:
Today we seek the joy that only forgiveness brings. Like Mary, who stood at the foot of the Cross as mercy flowed from her Son, may we open our hearts to heal and reconcile.
Though your sins be like scarlet, they shall be white as snow. Let the gift of forgiveness today renew your soul in God’s grace.
Let us Pray,
Merciful Mother,
Teach us to forgive as you forgave. Teach us to release anger, to heal division, to restore what sin has broken.
Show us the face of your Son in those we have wounded, and those who have wounded us. Pour God’s peace into our hearts until no bitterness remains, only the gentle joy of reconciliation.
Help us confess our sins with humility and receive pardon with gratitude. May our homes, our families, and our Church be places of peace, mercy, and love.
Amen.
The Eighth Day: August 4th, 2025
Scripture Readings:
Jeremiah 17:14-17; John 14:25-31
Reflection:
We pray today for peace of mind and spirit—for all battling inner storms. Like Mary, may they find quiet refuge in God’s loving care.
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Rest today in God’s unfailing presence, as Mary gently holds your heart.
Let us Pray,
Peaceful Mother,
Calm the restless mind, soothe the anxious heart. In your tender care, bring relief to those who suffer depression, fear, or confusion.
Breathe God’s perfect peace into the silent battles no one sees. Let hope arise where despair has taken root. Strengthen families and friends to offer patience, support, and unconditional love.
Guide health professionals with wisdom and compassion. Above all, remind each hurting soul they are never alone—God’s Spirit dwells within, bearing light to every darkness.
Amen.
The Ninth Day: August 5th, 2025
Scripture Readings:
Ezekiel 37:1-14; Psalm 118; 2 Corinthians 4:6-11; John 20:19-23
Reflection:
As our Novena concludes, we lift grateful hearts to God for every grace received. Like Mary, who magnified the Lord for His blessings, may we joyfully praise Him for His goodness.
Give thanks to the Lord, for His mercy endures forever. Though this Novena ends, Mary’s loving presence and God’s grace remain with you always.
Let us Pray,
O Blessed Virgin of the Snows,
With hearts overflowing with gratitude, we thank you for your constant intercession. For the blessings seen and unseen, for the healings granted, for the peace restored—we give thanks to God.
Continue to lead us ever closer to your Son, Jesus, that we may live lives of joyful praise. Teach us to be instruments of His grace in the world, sharing His love, mercy, and light.
May this sacred Shrine and all places of prayer remain holy ground where pilgrims encounter God’s presence. Through your prayers, may our faith be strong, our hope unshaken, our love unfailing.
Amen.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We thank you for joining us in this sacred time of prayer and reflection.
