On the Horizon: Oblate Studio Embraces a New Season of Vision and Purpose
Since its founding in the vibrant heart of San Antonio, Oblate Studio—a digital ministry of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate—has stood as a testament to the enduring power of faith and innovation. From the very beginning, the studio has been guided by a deeply rooted mission: to proclaim the Gospel with creativity and compassion, reaching individuals in every corner of the world through the tools of modern media. Now, as Oblate Studio enters a new phase of its journey, the excitement surrounding its growth is palpable, fueled by a shared sense of purpose and a bold vision for the future.
This transitional moment, rich with possibility, finds the Missionary Oblates immersed in discernment and strategic planning. Every step is accompanied by prayerful reflection, ensuring that each decision aligns with the studio’s core mission of evangelization. The initial phases of growth have revealed both challenges and opportunities, encouraging the team to embrace the unknown with hope and trust in God’s guidance.
At the heart of this season of planning is a commitment to exploring innovative approaches that harness the power of technology and storytelling. Oblate Studio has embarked on a creative journey to conceptualize projects that transcend traditional boundaries, seeking to foster deeper connections with the faithful and invite new audiences into the fold. Guided by the core values of creativity, reverence, and inclusivity, the studio’s endeavors are rooted in the belief that digital ministry can be a powerful vehicle for transformation and spiritual renewal.
The studio envisions the development of original video series that offer an intimate look into the lives of the Missionary Oblates and the communities they serve. Through these heartfelt narratives, viewers will witness the profound impact of the Missionary Oblates’ ministry, deepening their understanding of what it means to live a life of service and love.
Additionally, the studio is dedicated to producing new resources that support spiritual growth and faith formation. These resources, designed to meet people where they are, will offer guidance, encouragement, and tools for navigating the complexities of modern life through the lens of faith. Whether through interactive online programs, thought-provoking podcasts, or downloadable materials for personal reflection, Oblate Studio aims to create content that empowers individuals to grow closer to God and embrace their role in the Church’s mission.

A SOUND OF UNITY AND HOPE: OBLATE STUDIO’S FIRST COLLABORATIVE RECORDING PROJECT
As Oblate Studio sets its sights on a future filled with promise, a meaningful milestone recently unfolded that captures the very spirit of this new season: the studio’s first intra-organizational collaborative recording project. What began as a creative vision for a single animation session blossomed into a harmonious expression of unity, faith, and cultural richness—further revealing the transformative potential of digital ministry.
The project emerged from the 200th anniversary celebration of the approbation of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate Constitutions and Rules. In honor of this historic moment, monthly online animation sessions have been organized throughout the year. The Blessed Mario Borzaga Formation House was entrusted with leading the February session, and within that responsibility came an opportunity to innovate.
Brother Pablo Henning, OMI, led the initiative, which included the creation of a reflective video to close the session. It was more than a visual conclusion—it was an invitation to connect with the heart of the formation community. With great intention, a group of brothers collaborated to arrange and record a multilingual version of a beloved hymn, incorporating the diverse languages spoken within the Borzaga community. This musical piece would serve as both a spiritual reflection and a celebration of the international brotherhood that defines the Oblate identity.
The project took life in the studio, as the brothers gathered—some for the first time ever in a professional recording environment. There was a sense of excitement and reverence in the air as they practiced, rehearsed, and ultimately recorded the hymn. Though the multilingual version was unfamiliar to most, their collective determination and joy made the learning process smooth and meaningful.
Instrumental to the project’s success was Roger Brooks, Oblate Studio’s recording engineer, whose technical guidance and patient spirit empowered the brothers to bring their vision to life. His support exemplified the studio’s mission to be a resource and catalyst for mission-driven creativity. What resulted was more than just a song—it was a sacred moment of collaboration, a sonic reflection of unity in diversity, and a first step into a broader world of possibilities.
This first studio venture has already begun to bear fruit. Many of the participating brothers left with a renewed sense of excitement, carrying fresh ideas and hopes for future projects that could extend the reach and impact of the Oblate mission.
In this experience, the promise of Oblate Studio is made manifest—not only as a center for production but as a sanctuary for creativity, collaboration, and spiritual renewal. As the journey continues, the Missionary Oblates are reminded that innovation, when grounded in mission and inspired by community, can indeed be an expression of God’s love in motion.
Together, with your continued prayers and support, we look forward to more moments like this—where faith meets creativity, and where every voice lifted in song becomes part of a larger symphony of evangelization.
